"Britain may not leave EU despite referendum"

Despite <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/world.php?yyyy=2016&mm=06&dd=24&nav_id=98416" class="text-link" target= "_blank">a referendum last week</a> when citizens voted in favor of their country no longer being an EU member, Britain may never trigger the proceedings to leave.

"Britain may not leave EU despite referendum"

"We want London to trigger Article 50 now, to have clarity. I expect, as we can't force them, for them to take their time. And I would not exclude, it's my personal belief, that they may never do it," the diplomat said.

In order to leave the EU, a member-state must send a formal notification under Article 50 of the Lisbon Agreement.

According to AFP, EU partners expect London to sent that official notification by December 25 at the latest.
