B92 Fund project wins two awards at Social Innovations Forum
The Good Garden is a social enterprise/association established in April 2015 in Sombor, a town on northern Serbian, as part of B92 Fund’s project for economic empowerment of women, SHE-Empowerment (ONAsnazivanje).The project is focused on economic empowerment of women survivors of violence toward employment and self-employment through the provision of a new service of educational and mentoring program in Safe Houses.
Dalida Macura, manager of Good Garden, presented the business idea – establishing a network of entrepreneurs gathered around on the Forum of Social Innovations, pointing out that by expanding its production capacities, Good Garden would reach self-sustainability.
While selecting the best social-entrepreneurship initiatives to be granted the funds, the jury took into account the following criteria: sustainability, effectiveness and innovation (uniqueness compared to all existing initiatives).
The Forum of Social Innovations, organized by SMart Kolektiv for the third year in a row, is devoted to innovative solutions to social challenges, focusing specially on the issues such as OCD empowerment and social entrepreneurship. USAID Serbia provided the awards budget amounting to RSD 2.22 million.
