According to Rados Djurovic, it is possible that some of Syria trust fund money will be used to keep a number of migrants in Serbia and Macedonia.

He also said that an even greater number of refugees - arriving in Europe from the Middle East, Asia and Africa - can be expected in the spring.Speaking about the possibility that some of the migrants and refugees who are passing through the Balkans on their way to wealthy EU countries might be kept here, Djurovic said:
"Unfortunately, there are prospects that it could happen. We are increasingly witnessing them staying longer. The Balkan is like some sort of a zone that can lessen the pressure and in which those people can stay."
Asked "whether Serbia will be able to refuse such a thing," Djurovic said he was "afraid it would be very difficult to implement in practice."
"People are coming - Serbia cannot stop them, smuggling is increasing, and they just can't move on. They are staying in Belgrade and other towns, and it's just an indication this situation could increase."
The NGO official also remarked he "cannot see how Serbia will cope with this problem."
"On the one side there is Europe, on the other Macedonia. Although Serbia is not able to accept these people, they will pile up here," he has been quoted as saying.
Djurovic believes that Serbia's capacities should be emphasized "in negotiations about solving the migrant crisis." He expects the London conference on Thursday to produce no solutions.
Djurovic told RTS that "greater restrictions to halt the migrant crisis" are to be expected.
"I don't expect the spring to bring anything good. An average of 2,000 people enter Serbia daily during the winter, imagine when the conditions improve - more and more people will be coming," he said.
