C&A Foundation donates to B92 Fund project to help refugees

The C&A Foundation in this way expanded its assistance to refugees through local humanitarian organizations that are on site and trained to provide quick help to refugee families. In addition to the B92 Fund, the Red Cross of Serbia received an equal donation.

Nevena Nikolic, regional manager C&A for Serbia, presented the donation on behalf of the organization, stressing the importance of the entire community's participation in resolving the crisis and helping refugees. Gordan Paunovic symbolically received the check on behalf of the B92 Fund.

In response to the refugee crisis that has engulfed Europe this year, the C&A Foundation provided a total of one million euros as emergency response aimed at helping the most disadvantaged. Through its offices in all countries where C&A has stores, proposals were collected for initiatives related to humanitarian activities that will be implemented by local organizations. The B92 Fund and the Trag Foundation have been running the Info Park project for the three months now - a series of information centers designed to quickly assist refugees, located in Presevo, Dimitrovgrad, Belgrade, and soon in Miratovac.

Since the project was launched, tens of thousands of refugees in transit through Serbia have had the opportunity to use these info centers to get in touch with their families, take advantage of free internet, and recharge their cellphones.

Refugees also receive information about continuing their journey, asylum seeking procedures, medical, legal and other assistance - i.e., vitally important issues. The donation money will be used to expand the project and purchase winter clothing and other forms of emergency humanitarian help for refugees through B92 Fund's projects.
