"Serbia secure, no threat of terror attacks"

"26 Serbian citizens who have gone to fight in Syria are still there, seven have returned, while eight are believed to have been killed there," Stefanovic told state broadcaster RTS.

Serbian security services are monitoring the situation, he said.

"Serbia is peaceful, secure and stable. Impulses of instability come in from the region from time to time, but we want to cooperate with all neighbors and show that we are not against Islam. Muslims in Serbia may feel secure and those who are planning terror attacks are the ones who should be afraid", Stefanovic said.

Police presence and intelligence work has been boosted on all borders, he said.
