EC progress reports to be published on Tuesday

A statement quoted by Tanjug said that "the reports on progress of Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Turkey and Kosovo will be presented by Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn."

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic will meet with head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport on Tuesday afternoon, who will present the report.

The public presentation of the package was previously postponed several times by the EC.

The Commission failed to offer a satisfactory explanation as to why this was the case, while most analysts agree it was an attempt to avoid spoiling relations with Turkey, because of the parts of the relevant report related to human rights violations in that country. Turkey is EU's strategic ally in the solving of the refugee crisis.

The reports will this year for the first time rate candidates with grades, one to five, depending on they progress made in different areas.
