Public call for sale of Telekom Srbija to be issued soon

Aleksandar Vucic states that it is a matter of days, not weeks, when the public call for the privatization of public company Telekom Srbija would be issued.

Public call for sale of Telekom Srbija to be issued soon

He noted that the funds from the sale would not flow into the budget and added that a half of the sum would instead be allocated to investments, while the other half would be used for servicing non-performing loans.

Vucic said that eight companies voiced interest in purchase of Telekom.

The prime minister noted that he believes it would be far better for Telekom to be sold because it can hardly prevail in the competition against global companies on the local market.

The Privatization Agency has issued the public call for the sale of 58.1 per cent of Telekom Srbija.
