The donation also consisted of pulse oximeters for measuring blood oxygen saturation, examination light lamps, surgical vacuum aspirator and patient monitors with ECG, one for adults and one for the babies.

This valuable donation is the result of a longtime fellow fighter of B92 Fund’s campaigns "Battle for the Babies" and "Battle for Maternity Wards" Milan Popovic’s immediate reaction to the tragedy that took place on March 13, 2015, when in the helicopter crash that transported seriously ill baby from Novi Pazar to Belgrade, seven people got killed.

"I can only extend my sincere gratitude to Milan Popovic for his humanity and for allowing medical crew in this maternity ward to offer timely health care, while our patients received full care and service," Dr Mirsad Djerlek, Director of the General Hospital in Novi Pazar, stated on this occasion.

"Solidarity and humanity get their true meaning thanks to people such as Milan Popovic. Relentlessly proving how sincere his need to help people is, he shows that humanity can overcome tragedy. Unfortunately, today’s donation came as a reaction to a terrible tragedy, but it will prevent something like this from happening in future. As Mr. Popovic reacted immediately after the tragedy, initiating this donation, B92 Fund did everything in its power to provide necessary equipment. To everyone’s satisfaction, the equipment reached Novi Pazar today," Veran Matic, President of B92 Fund’s Board of Directors, had stated. By furnishing General Hospital in Novi Pazar with new equipment, campaign "Battle for Maternity Wards" announces its 22^nd victory. B92 Fund invites all interested donors to get in touch in order to help providing equipment for all maternity wards in Serbia, which will reduce death rate of newborns, in the same time encouraging their parents that their babies will be born under conditions that guarantee maximal security and that the babies and future mothers will be offered best possible care.

So far, Milan Popovic had donated more than EUR 1.3 million for the campaigns “Battle for the Babies”, both in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Battle for Emergency Center and Battle for Maternity Wards, so with this donation to Novi Pazar General Hospital, his overall donation reaches almost EUR 1.4 million.
