This had "an adverse effect on relations between the two states," Vucic, who is on Wednesday visiting Albania as the first Serbian prime minister in history, remarked.

During a joint press conference with his host, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Vucic also said that the incident was "politically organized."

"The Greater Albania flag constitutes a political incident," Vucic said.

"I know the name. The gentleman's name is Ismail, I don't know his last name. This person came from Italy three or four days before the game," Vucic said.

Reacting to this, Rama said that "for Albanians, a Greater Albania is not a vision, a project, or a program."

"It leaves no impression on Albanians when it appears in any form or place, as was the case in Belgrade," he added.

"If we had seen a Greater Serbia flag, we and our entire people would have laughed and would not have taken it seriously," Rama said, adding that he believes both sides had "learned lessons from this event."

The map flown by the drone showed Albania expanded to include parts of Serbia, Montenegro, Greece and Macedonia.

Rama remarked on Wednesday that he "did not understand why Serbs get so angry over this."

"That was a political message. You cannot bring a Greater Albania flag simply as a joke," Vucic said.

The Albanian prime minister, who visited Belgrade six months ago, "concluded that the incident has been overcome by this return visit of the Serbian prime minister."

"It represents a sign of joint good will to move forward and the conviction that, regardless of disagreements, we have unlimited possibilities for mutual friendship," said Rama.
