The European Union highly appreciates the Serbian government because of the successful economic reforms it is putting in place, says Michael Davenport.

"EU highly appreciates Serbian government"

The European Union is convinced that the Serbian government has the capacities to govern Serbia along the EU path, the government's media relations office quoted Davenport as saying.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, noting that the dialogue should be intensified.

Prime Minister Vucic and Ambassador Davenport said that the good cooperation between the EU Delegation and the Serbian government is evident in the successful realization of joint projects, especially in the recovery of the areas affected by the devastating floods last year.

The Serbian prime minister thanked the EU for the assistance from the EU Solidarity Fund, and for the money (EUR 80 million) from the IPA funds that the EU earmarked for the infrastructure in Serbia in 2015.

Vucic underscored that Serbia remains committed to meeting its main foreign policy objective - EU membership, and voiced the expectation that the EU would realistically appraise the efforts that the country invested in meeting EU standards.
