BELGRADE In the first eleven months of 2013, Serbia's agriculture and food industries registered exports totalling USD 2.5 billion. This is a 1.1-percent increase compared to the period between January and November 2012, data from the Statistical Office show. Agricultural exports reach USD 2.5 bn, rise by 1.1 pct The value of Serbian food exports for the entire year should reach USD 2.75 billion, experts say. The rise of imports has been steady, supplementing the range of available commodities and raw materials required by the processing industry. Food imports are expected to reach approximately USD 1.55 million. These trends should result in a surplus amounting to approximately USD 1.2 billion. Data from the Statistical Office show that the value of Serbia's agricultural and food imports between January and November, amounting to USD 1.4 billion, is 6.1 percent higher compared to the same period last year. The trade surplus registered by the agriculture and food industries declined in the period between January and November 2013 by 4.7 percent, totalling USD 1.09 billion, with export-to-import ratio at 177 percent. A decline in mercantile corn exports as a result of aflatoxin occurrences last year and persistent importer caution is highly compensated by mercantile wheat exports. Mercantile wheat exports in 2013 are expected to total 1.2 million tons. The value of Serbian food exports for the entire year should reach USD 2.75 billion, experts say.

The rise of imports has been steady, supplementing the range of available commodities and raw materials required by the processing industry.

Food imports are expected to reach approximately USD 1.55 million.

These trends should result in a surplus amounting to approximately USD 1.2 billion.

Data from the Statistical Office show that the value of Serbia's agricultural and food imports between January and November, amounting to USD 1.4 billion, is 6.1 percent higher compared to the same period last year.

The trade surplus registered by the agriculture and food industries declined in the period between January and November 2013 by 4.7 percent, totalling USD 1.09 billion, with export-to-import ratio at 177 percent.

A decline in mercantile corn exports as a result of aflatoxin occurrences last year and persistent importer caution is highly compensated by mercantile wheat exports.

Mercantile wheat exports in 2013 are expected to total 1.2 million tons.

The main agricultural exports in the first eleven months of this year were mercantile wheat (USD 186 million), frozen raspberries (USD 172 million), refined sugar (USD 144 million), mercantile corn (USD 132 million), and refined sunflower oil (USD 83 million).
