Muslims in Serbia celebrated the first day of Kurban Bayram, one of the two most important Muslim holidays.

BELGRADE Muslims in Serbia celebrated the first day of Kurban Bayram, one of the two most important Muslim holidays. They attended morning prayers in mosques and other religious facilities around the country on Tuesday. Muslims celebrate Kurban Bayram By a morning prayer in Bajrakli Mosque in Belgrade, Mufti of the Islamic Community of Serbia Mustafa Jusufspahic wished joy to all Muslims, all people of good will and Serbia as their country. He said that Muslims in Belgrade can go to only one mosque and expressed the belief that they would get a new one which they need very much, and expressed gratitude to the country for introducing chaplains in the army after 70 years. Secretary General of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community of Serbia Eldin Asceric and Chief Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia Muamer Zukorlic addressed traditional holiday greeting to the believers on Monday. Serbia's top officials, including PM Ivica Dacic, and Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities Mileta Radojevic congratulated the holiday to Muslim dignitaries, religious officials and believers of the Islamic community.
