Serbian MFA reacts to incidents in Croatia

BELGRADE The Serbian Foreign Ministry says it "intervened verbally" with Croatian Ambassador to Serbia Gordan Markotic over the recent violence in Vukovar. This intervention was also made, according to an MFA statement carried by Beta, with the Croatian authorities in Zagreb and also in European institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg. "The Foreign Ministry pointed to the impermissible behavior of extremist groups in Croatia, flagrantly offending the culture of the Serb minority in Croatia and acting from a place of Ustashism," the press release read, referring to the Ustasha regime of the WW2-era, Nazi-allied, Independent State of Croatia (NDH).
