BRUSSELS Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci are meeting on Thursday over a working dinner with Catherine Ashton to discuss the progress in the Brussels deal implementation. The meeting between the heads of governments in Belgrade and Pristina was announced on Wednesday by the EU foreign policy's spokesperson Maja Kocijacic, Tanjug reported. Dacic, Vucic, Thaci meeting in Brussels They will hold talks as part of the implementation plan that was adopted several weeks ago, Kocijacic told reporters earlier, adding that this will be an opportunity to assess the progress made so far concerning the implementation of the agreement that was signed in April. Thee dinner is also be attended by First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic. In Brussels, meetings were still ongoing earlier in the day between the Belgrade and Pristina working groups, and the agenda of the dialogue today "depended on the outcome of these talks," Kocijancic said. Dacic said that Thursday's meeting with Thaci is crucial as the contents of a letter of Ashton and EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele will depend on its outcome. “We want to do as much as possible when it comes to the implementation of the agreement,” Dacic said, adding that the Belgrade delegation will be constructive. The letter of Ashton and Fule will inform the EU member states about everything that has been done in the Belgrade-Pristina agreement so far, Dacic underlined. Contrary to some media reports, no new document is to be signed after the dinner, the implementation of the deal being the most important thing at this moment, the spokeswoman said. Kocijacic confirmed that on Friday, Ashton and EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule will address a short letter to the EU member states about the progress in implementing the agreement and internal reforms in Serbia. That is part of preparations for the meeting of the Council of Ministers that will be held in Luxembourg next week, she explained, adding that the content of the letter will mostly depend on what will be agreed during the dinner. On Tuesday, the foreign ministers will discuss whether Serbia should be granted a start date for the EU entry talks. The Commission has already put forward its recommendation to the Council to give Serbia the date, so the letter would be just an update of that information, Kocijacic stressed. (Beta, file) Tanjug
