Jankovic expressed hope that the agreement will open a new chapter in promoting the relations between the two institutions. She underlined that by the adoption of the first law on competition protection in 2005, and the second one in 2009, Serbia expressed an unambiguous desire to follow the development dynamics of competition protection in developed countries, and harmonize its standards with the European and widely accepted world standards. “The implementation of the rules of competition protection is no more an internal issue, but an international obligation,” Jankovic said. Artemiev expressed satisfaction over the agreement, adding that the two institutions will exchange experience regarding the market behavior rules. Bugarin underlined that the competition is the engine of progress, and also a complex area which should be approached with a lot of attention and expertise that requires permanent education and monitoring of other countries' practice, particularly valuable Russian experience.
