If you are able to ignore the commotion and noise coming from street, you can chose to sit at one of the tables in the garden placed on the quieter side of the restaurant. The menu has been broadened lately, and now, besides a variety of sea and fresh water fish, you can also try some of the grilled meat specialties. Still, following tradition, we decided to take sail on both, “river and sea”. First to order was the extremely tasteful, slightly hot fish, and also a very interesting costal delicacy in form of red snapper broth, mildly seasoned with mint. A warm entrée in form of risotto with squid, served in as a cone covered with parmesan, was the logical choice for further “navigation”. We continued with a handsome portion of well grilled salmon, with only one objection in regards to the small portion of potato and Swiss chard served as the side dish. Fresh water fish were successfully represented by perch fillets in butter and white wine. Beautifully served, with tomatoes and lettuce leaves, the tender fish and the delicious butter and white wine sauce literally forced us to wipe the plate clean with a few pieces of bread. The vitamin salad and lettuce were good, although the portions could have been larger. Last but not least, for dessert we had the hazelnut parfait and excellent homemade baklava with prunes and cranberries. Fond memories of Bled will keep us coming back for more. Meal for two costs 2,700 dinars. Situated on a busy location across the street from the Botanical Garden, Bled has always been a restaurant where families enjoyed coming for quality fish specialties on a Sunday afternoon.
