"I am glad that after ten years we are returning this museum to the public in Belgrade and Serbia. The government will focus on the completion of reconstruction works of the National Museum as of tomorrow, as it wants to show how important the culture is and that caring for culture is a precondition for the country’s progress," she said.

Brnabic also "expressed her gratitude to her colleagues in the current and previous government, who made a great effort to complete the reconstruction of this museum, as well as to President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who insisted that the works be brought to an end as soon as possible," and said she was satisfied that "for the first time three great brands gathered around this great idea - the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Belgrade Dance Festival and the Belgrade Philharmonic."

Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Slobodan Nakarada stated that this is a great day for Serbian culture, and announced that the museum will work continuously for the next seven days and nights, and that he hopes that the turnout will be the same as at today's opening.

Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali emphasized that today Belgrade once again becomes the cultural capital of this part of Europe, adding that it is a special symbolism that this museum opens on Belgrade Liberation Day.
