Vucic "remains committed to good relations with Montenegro"

The president-elect said that he would "remain committed to their further development, as well as to encouraging the improvement of economic cooperation and infrastructural linking of Serbia and Montenegro" in his new office.

Micunovic "underlined that the embassy of Montenegro in Belgrade wholeheartedly supports and assists the achievement of the common goals of mutual interest."

He gave Vucic a letter of congratulations from the prime minister of Montenegro, which said, "I am convinced that the Republic of Serbia, with your strong leadership, will continue to play a constructive role in the Western Balkans, and that you will in your new mandate be sincerely committed to maintaining peace, stability and opportunities for the European perspective of our states."

"With great pleasure do I highlight the fact that your victory in the presidential election opens new prospects for intensive cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia in all fields of mutual interest," Markovic's message said, and concluded:

"The closeness of our peoples points to the closest links, to which you, as the Prime Minister of Serbia have given an undoubted contribution in the past years. I firmly believe that a new era of strong cooperation is ahead of us, based on trust and friendship that we have already built."
