Authorities investigating the 2004 deaths of two soldiers in Belgrade have come to new information based on which the killers will soon be discovered.

According to the article, the investigation is primarily focused on exposing those who covered up the traces "which lead to the top levels of state leadership."The victims, Dragan Jakovljevic and Drazen Milovanovic, members of the Guard (Serbian: Garda) unit of the Yugoslav Army (VJ), died on October 4, 2004 in the military facility Karas, located on Belgrade's Topcider neighborhood.
A military investigation ruled that the case was a murder-suicide, but an independent state commission later concluded that both soldiers were killed by a third person. In early December of last year, a 3D forensic analysis was presented which confirmed that the soldiers were murdered.
The pre-trial procedure is being handled by the Higher Public Prosecution in Belgrade, while the ministries of the interior, defense, and civilian and military security services, BIA and VBA, are all involved.
The newly formed commission has acted a majority of the requests filed by the legal representatives of the families of the victims - except to question former President Boris Tadic, who, they say, "has knowledge" about the case.
Predrag Savic, one of the authorized representatives of the families, confirmed for Danas that the investigation has arrived at new information, "especially about the people who hid the traces of the murder, and about the ways they did it."
These new developments will, as he claims, soon lead to "the names of the killers."
On the other hand, Vuk Tufegdzic, a former military investigating judge who led the original probe into the killings, remains of the view that a murder-suicide took place in Topcider, and that there was no cover up.
