The Serbian government said in a statement that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will be among the officials to meet with Kurz.

In an interview for Tanjug ahead of his arrival here, the Austrian official said his country is among the strongest supporters of opening more chapters in Serbia's EU accession talks - something he said the current EU presiding country Malta is aware of.

The Belgrade-Pristina dialogue should be continued constructively as that can help to convince skeptical EU member states that further steps need to be taken on Serbia's EU path, he said.

"The two high-level meetings, on January 24 and February 1, have contributed to an easing of tensions. Also, the agreement on the controversial North Mitrovica wall is an important integral part of the renewed dialogue," Kurz told Tanjug.

According to him, in order to implement the already reached agreement fully, "what's needed is not only the revitalization and reopening of the bridge in (Kosovska) Mitrovica" but also the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

While in Belgrade, Kurz will attend an operative meeting of prosecutors and police officials from Bulgaria, Croatia, and Serbia, organized by the OSCE, dedicated to exchanging information about investigations into the smuggling of migrants perpetrated by organized crime groups.

The Austrian official will also present vehicles and IT equipment donated by the OSCE to a Serbian police task force working on these cases.

Before arriving in Belgrade, Kurz was in Skopje - "one year after the closing of the Balkan migrant route," said Tanjug.
