"Those who back Pristina's actions are responsible for them"

Responding to a statement made by the embassy's spokesperson about the U.S. respecting the right of Kosovo to "manage its borders" and supporting "the activity of the Kosovo institutions" to prevent a train traveling from Belgrade from reaching Kosovska Mitrovica - Vulin said that Pristins "never acts independently, and this time is no different."

"Special units of the Kosovo police ROSU were not at Jarinje to guard crossings or control trains. The scenario of provoking a conflict with the Serbs that would not have passed without bloodshed was prepared and approved, while a violation of the Brussels agreement was supported and kept silent about. The statement of the U.S. embassy in Pristina confirms that this is so," said Vulin.

He added that Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic acted "as a courageous and responsible statesman" when he "did not allow the Serbs to be drawn into a bloodbath, and therefore the failed ROSU action had to be justified by the political support from the U.S. embassy in Pristina."

"Rather than safeguard peace the U.S. embassy in Pristina justifies announcements of violence, instead of protecting the Brussels Agreement, the U.S. embassy in Pristina supports its violation, instead of asking for the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, it's justifying threats of weapons," said Vulin.

Peace requires two sides, he continued, while conflict and war "takes only one - especially when one side thinks it has support for war from a mighty and big power."

"If the U.S. embassy in Pristina wants peace in Kosovo and Metohija, it should quickly stop justifying violence and calls for war. All those who approve, encourage and justify Pristina's actions bear the responsibility for them," concluded Vulin.
