Russian military sends reinforcements

Residents of Tal Rifaat, a Kurdish-held town north of Aleppo, told AFP that Russian troop reinforcements had arrived in the town.

Tal Rifaat is located 15 kilometers south of the border with Turkey. Kurdish forces control the city and surrounding villages, and Russian troops were already present in the area.

Residents said Russian forces had set up roadblocks in a nearby village, cutting it off from positions controlled by Turkish forces and Syrian rebels.

Pro-Turkish forces control the areas surrounding Tal Rifaat from the north, while Russian-backed Syrian troops control zones mainly in the south.
