Russia's been attacked: Combat helicopters destroyed VIDEO

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the news in Telegram, without directly claiming responsibility.

According to the Baza information platform, and the information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, two Kamov Ka-52 Hokum-B and one Mi28N helicopter were destroyed by the activation of explosives. Two more helicopters were damaged. Allegedly, 400 grams of explosive TNT was attached to one helicopter, which for an unknown reason did not activate.

If all of this is true, then this is the first attack by Ukrainian forces deep inside Russian territory, VAR History portal reports. Earlier cases of sabotage mostly happened in the border regions, most often in Belgorod, and in the Crimea.

The video was taken during the day and shows a man in camouflage clothing and black gloves assembling an explosive device from MD-5M and VZD-6Ch detonators. These are devices that operate with a delay of up to six hours, and the explosives were activated during the night.

Russian media reported on the explosions very soon after they happened, but the Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the case. Numerous reports have been published revealing that security at Veretye Air Base has been almost non-existent for years, and an unnamed official told RFE/RL that the military base is quite easy to enter.

"You can go to the airstrip and walk into any nearby village". The destroyed Ka-52 Alligator helicopters are the most advanced military vehicles that Russia possesses.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, Russia had 90 such helicopters at the beginning of the invasion, but that number has since decreased. They reportedly lost at least 23 of them.

It is also significant that this is a base where Russian strategic nuclear bombers were once stationed, and an unknown number of Tupolev Tu-22M supersonic bombers are probably still there today. There is also a nuclear bomb storage facility within the base, although it is impossible to know if there are currently any bombs there and, if so, how many.
