Xi Jinping angry? "Everything leaked to the newspaper" VIDEO

Footage from the G20 summit in Indonesia shows a frustrated Jinping pulling the Canadian Prime Minister aside and telling him it is inappropriate to immediately share details of the two leaders' talks with the media.

"Everything we talked about was leaked to the newspapers, that's not right. That's not how diplomacy works," said Chinese President Trudeau.

Interference in Canadian elections

Namely, the fact that Canadian officials conveyed to the media that Trudeau had expressed concern about China's increasingly aggressive interference during a previous conversation angered Xi Jinping, writes the Guardian.

"In Canada, we believe in free, open and honest dialogue. We will continue to cooperate constructively, but there will be things on which we will not agree," said Trudeau.

The Chinese President, gesturing with his hands, told him that "first we need to create conditions for cooperation". The two leaders ended the conversation by shaking hands and headed in opposite directions. The awkward communication and previous conversation followed repeated warnings from Trudeau and other officials that China was trying to undermine Canadian democracy.
