Putin prepares the Russians for defeat?
Independent portal Meduza claims that the real reason for the evacuation of civilians from Kherson is Russia's fear that a Ukrainian counter-offensive on the city could be inevitable.The pro-Russian authorities in occupied Kherson confirmed on Monday that the evacuation of the civilian population from the city on the left bank of the Dnieper has been completed. Moscow claimed that such a measure was necessary because Ukraine was planning an attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, which would cause massive flooding.
However, the Meduza portal states that they came into possession of two new documents prepared by Putin's administration, in which it is planned how the propaganda media will cover the situation in Kherson.
According to those documents, the Russians want to prepare the public for a possible withdrawal from Kherson. Thus, it was suggested to the media that they call the Kherson front the most difficult for the Russian army in the current phase of the special operation.
Propagandists will also be tasked with explaining why Kherson is vital to Ukrainians.
"The Russians are aware that losing Kherson is a real option," states Meduza. One of the instructions to the Russian media is to include the following sentences: "Kyiv does not care about its own losses, it is ready to send tens of thousands of its own and others to their deaths for the sake of new financial resources and weapons supplies. Russian troops are trying to save the lives of civilians and soldiers. It is the risk of a massive attack on the city by a huge group of nationalists that dictated the evacuation of civilians in the city on the left bank of the Dnieper."
The Russian state media should further assure the Russians that Ukraine and NATO members have focused all their forces on conquering Kherson, and that by staying in the city, Russian military forces would risk losing a large number of their members.
