"North Korea fires an unspecified ballistic missile towards the East Sea," Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced.

A missile launched by North Korea on Wednesday fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan, Japanese media reported.

Since the beginning of 2022, North Korea has conducted 30 test launches of missiles.

Pyongyang has said that North Korea's military activities are a response to provocations by South Korea and its allies.

A missile launched by North Korea fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan, the Kyodo news agency reports.

Vessels in the area were urged to refrain from approaching the missile parts, if detected, and to contact authorities immediately.

The Crisis Center of Japanese Prime Minister Fumi Kishida's office is currently collecting and analyzing data on North Korea's new missile launches, according to Kyodo.
