A creepy message appeared: “We are close to you” PHOTO
On the front page, there is an illustration showing a ring launching a missile on the Dimona nuclear reactor and a note that reads “we are close to you where you don’t think about it”.The paper accused pro-Iranian hackers of that, because, as it states, the illustration alludes to Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in the attack of the U.S. drone in Iraq on this day in 2020.
The illustration shows a bullet-shaped object fired from a red ring, which is a reference to the characteristic ring worn by the slain Iranian general Qassim Soleimani.
"We are aware of the apparent hacking of our website, alongside a direct threat of Israel," the statement said. According to the paper, the hackers seem to have managed to change the list's keywords during the attack.
It is unclear, according to the Jerusalem Post, whether the hackers were from Iran or supporters outside the country or were under the auspices of the state.
This is not the first time that the paper has been targeted by pro-Iranian hackers. In May 2020, pro-Iranian hackers replaced the site's homepage with an illustration of Tel Aviv burning while then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swam behind a life raft with the words "Be prepared for a big surprise."
Several other Israeli websites were also targeted at the time.
