"And you then say to Belgrade - as part of your accession process - we are not going to accept you to be a member of the European Union unless you pursue European Union policy in Bosnia-Herzegovina actively ensuring that this is not allowed to break up," he said.

Ashdown also remarked that the president of the Serb Republic (RS) "had a picture of him on his walls that he puts pins into," writes the Sarajevo-based website klix.ba.

Last Friday, "Days of the RS in Serbia 2017" opened at the National Theater in Belgrade, when Dodik said that the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia are one.

"The RS and Serbia are one, and only historical disasters have created the borders," the RS president said while declaring the event open.
