"Islamic terror could have its European base in Bosnia"

"There is an illusion that Islamic State is weakening as it is losing territory. The cancer (of Islamic terrorism) has its own metastases, and they are just as deadly as the tumor itself. I recently warned of the phenomenon of foreign fighters, who after the fall of IS can move to Afghanistan, to create a new Islamic State, and also - and with this I have infuriated many politicians - they can create a European base, for example, in Bosnia, because even now, black IS flags fly in some Bosnian towns," Zeman told private TV Barrandov last night, in his regular weekly interview.

Zeman recalled that during the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, Muslim fighters from abroad rushed to the aid of what he referred to as "the so-called Bosniaks, meaning, Muslims."

"That means there is a certain risk of a European base of Islamic terrorism being created," the Czech president said of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Zeman added that frequent attacks on tourist destinations in Europe made him fear that Islamic terrorists could pay attention to the tourist heart of the Czech Republic, the capital Prague, which has so far been spared, and recommended that city authorities tighten security measures, as he has ordered to be done in the presidential Castle Hradcany.
