"The deliveries have not yet started. Work is being done to that end in line with the plan, agreed on with our partners," he told Sputnik during the Army 2017 Forum.

The six MiG-29s, now in service in the Russian Aerospace Forces, have been donated to Serbia. The overhaul of these warplanes, along with the four MiG-29 the Serbian Air Force already has, will be done in Serbia by Russian experts, and will cost the country a total of EUR 185 million.

Shugaev also said that negotiation are ongoing about the possible sale of S-300 air defense missile systems to Serbia, Sputnik has reported.

"At this time our Serbian partners are interested in the delivery of the S-300 system. This question is being reviewed," Beta has quoted Shugaev as saying, citing a RIA Novosti report.
