Turkey denies it plans to attack Syria

Turkey is not planning a military attack on Syria and "Russian stories about such actions are propaganda," a Turkish government official has said.

Turkey denies it plans to attack Syria

He added that "Russia is stepping up each day its military campaign in Syria instead of working on a solution."

"Turkey is part of the coalition and cooperates with the allies and will continue to do so. As we have repeatedly said, Turkey will not act unilaterally," said the Turkish official.

Russian Ministry of Defense spokesperson Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday Russia had serious reason to suspect that Turkey was preparing a military incursion into Syria.

"The Russian Defense Ministry registered an increasing number of signs of secret preparations of the Turkish armed forces for active actions in the territory of Syria," Konashenkov said in a statement.
