Also today, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said that his country will allow Russian planes to fly over on their way to Syria "if Moscow agrees for their cargo to be checked at a Bulgarian airport."The statement came a day after the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said it had rejected A Russian request for Russian military transport aircraft to use its airspace September 1-24, the Bulgarian news agency BTA said.
Mitov stated that "his ministry will explain the reasons for its decision in favor of Russia, when an explanation is requested."
Meanwhile, the Russian news agency Interfax reported, citing officials from the Russian embassy in Tehran, that Iran had approved "all requests from Moscow regarding flights delivering humanitarian aid to Syria," Reuters reported.
