Jordan executes prisoners after pilot is "burned alive"

Jordanian officials said that the prisoners were hanged at dawn. The BBCreported they were "failed suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi, and al-Qaeda operative Ziyad Karboli."

The Jordanian government has been negotiating with members of the IS on an exchange of prisoners, but those negotiations were not successful and Jordan "announced revenge" after the killing of the pilot.

"The blood of the martyr will not run in vain, and revenge will be proportional to the catastrophe which hit all Jordanians together," said a spokesman for the Jordanian army.

Sajida al-Rishawi was convicted for a terrorist attack in the Jordanian capital in 2005, which killed 60 people.
