Children among casualties as fighting continues in Ukraine

As reported by TASS, eight members of the pro-Russian forces were killed.

According to the Ukranian army, two children aged seven and died when a missile hit a house in Vulehirsk in eastern Ukraine, while a 9-year-old was injured in the same attack.

Ukrainian soldiers over the weekend took almost the entire territory of the airport in Donetsk, which they lost to the pro-Russian forces in recent weeks, Reuters said.

However, the pro-Russian activists announced on Monday that they have once again taken control of the airport after several days of intense fighting, but Ukrainian officials have not confirmed that the government forces had withdrawn.

Their leader Aleskandr Zakharchenko said early this morning at a press conference that his forces had seized control of the airport, reports AP.
