DAMASCUS Syrian President Bashar al-Assad says he will rid the country of Muslim extremists whom he blames for a suicide blast in a Damascus mosque on Thursday evening. 42 persons were killed in the mosque blast, including top Sunni preacher Sheikh Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Buti who was a staunch supporter the Syrian president.
