37 people died while more than 50 are still missing in Japan after a typhoon hit the country last weekend, said reports. Typhoon Talas destroyed infrastructure, including electric grids, houses and bridges, causing flooding and landslides. 37 dead in Japan in wake of Typhoon Talas Japanese prefectures of Wakayama and Nara suffered the most damage. In Wakayama, some 4,500 people were left stranded after roads and bridges collapsed, while hundreds of others found accommodation in evacuation centers.
