A mosque in a Palestinian village north of Jerusalem was attacked overnight, residents said, the BBC reported. Two tires were set on fire and thrown into the mosque in the village of Kasra, near the West Bank city of Nablus, 65km north of Jerusalem, they said. Israel is fiercely against the move. The Israeli army has reportedly been training settlers in preparation for potential clashes with Palestinians. There are some 500,000 Jewish Settlers living in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Settlements are regarded as illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this.
