The search for the source of the epidemic which has claimed 21 lives in Germany continues, with Spanish cucumbers now ruled out, and with no proof thus far that the bacteria came with locally produced bean sprouts. Meanwhile, the European Commission is set to discuss compensation for fruit and vegetable farmers and traders in the EU, who suffered huge losses since the start of the epidemic.
