U.S. investigators have been unable to find evidence that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange "induced" the disclosure of diplomatic cables by Bradley Manning. According to the officials familiar with the case, new data the investigators found show that Manning, an intelligence analyst accused of providing the site with hundreds of thousands of secret State Department cables, "initiated the theft himself", the Wall Street Journal writes. "No evidence of Assange-Manning link" "That contrasts with the initial portrait provided by Defense Department officials of a young man taken advantage of by Mr. Assange," said reports. The probes have found little to link Assange and Manning, though others affiliated with WikiLeaks have been tied to Manning, officials have been quoted as saying.
