The AFP and Associated Press news agencies quoted officials as saying the first strike hit a vehicle killing four militants. The second attack was in the same area and targeted militants on a motorcycle, killing at least two more. The region, close to the Afghan border, is a key battle zone in the conflict against Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants, and the U.S. military is believed to launch drone strikes on suspected militants in the region.
