Whistleblowing website WikiLeaks is being harried from pillar to post as the governments it has enraged seek to close it down, euronews reported. With an Interpol arrest warrant issued against its founder Julian Assange on allegations of rape, the website has been forced off its WikiLeaks.org website and had to seek shelter elsewhere after cyberattacks shut it down. WikiLeaks comes under huge pressure Assange says he and his colleagues have been subjected to death threats, and that the Interpol warrant, issued by Sweden, is just a front. “One draws certain conclusions when Interpol, the day after WikiLeaks made their big leak, issues this arrest warrant for this kind of crime and this is why Mr. Assange doesn’t want to come to Sweden as he can’t help but suspect that some other country would want him to extradited to that country, that Sweden is some sort of middle station,” says his lawyer Bjorn Hurtig. Assange maintains that even if web servers in all countries are banned from hosting WikiLeaks, the files have already gone out to the world’s media, and 100,000 individuals around the world. “History will win”, he says, reported euronews. Pirate Party to the rescue After wikileaks.org was shut down on Friday, the website moved to wikileaks.ch. The move to Switzerland was supported and announced by the country's Pirate Party. Party president Denis Simonet held a press conference in Biel to announce the move. The domain is registered by the Pirate Party and it currently points to a single IP address in Sweden, said reports. With the ongoing migration, alternative DNS entries were announced.
