WikiLeaks has continued to cause diplomatic havoc around the world with its daily disclosures, putting the US government on the back foot. In time honored way of closing the door after the horse has bolted, Washington is to set up a committee to tighten security at its agencies, to keep sensitive documents classified. U.S. assesses WikiLeaks damage, ups security The US is also pursuing legal means to stop Julian Assange and his whistle-blowing site. In one development, Amazon.com has stopped hosting the website. But WikiLeaks maintains people have a right to know what officials, working on their behalf, are doing. Meanwhile Interpol has issued a Red Notice for Assange’s arrest on an unconnected charge of rape which he denies. With the international community looking for him it’s reported he’s in the UK but the British police have not as yet acted on the Interpol warrant.
