French President Nicolas Sarkozy says France "doesn't let anyone dictate its policies, and certainly not terrorists." The French president stated this after a European Union summit in Brussels and after al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden made threats against French authorities. “France won’t let terrorists dictate its policy” “The burqa ban has been voted into law and proclaimed, the French Republic has made its choice. It will not allow women in its territory to be trapped, not even behind a piece of fabric,” Sarkozy added. In his audio message, which was aired on Al Jazeera, bin Laden threatened France and demanded authorities revoke the debatable law banning Islamic veils and withdrawal of French troops from Afghanistan. French Defense Minister Herve Morin said yesterday that withdrawal of French troops from Afghanistan could start in the beginning of 2011.
