Croatian journalist on Matej's disappearance: "It's a little awkward to me too" VIDEO

Croatian RTL journalist Boris Misevic, who came to Belgrade to report on the case, told TV Prva that he believed the police already had a "good idea of what happened".

"Serbian police have more additional information, but I think they are tactical, and then they will go public with all the information. The media did not get statement of any representative of the Ministry of the Interior, we hope it will be today," Misevic said.

He commented on the recordings that appeared in public.

"One thing is for sure, he did not run away from someone. I don't know why he ran. There was no violence, no conflict, no one attacked him. Either something happened to him, or something happened around him that made him run. The most important thing for me is the video when he tries to enter the river", Mišević pointed out.

He commented that he talked to the father of the missing young man and stated that he admired that man.

"I admire that man. He is on a mission and he is aware of the options and he hopes for the best. He is aware that he will find his son dead or alive. The key information that appeared as to whether the father was saying whether it was really Matej on the recordings, the father confirmed that it was. It's a turning point," he explained.

Commenting on the video of him running with a girl, the RTL journalist points out that he does not know who it is, but he points out that they are running simultaneously.

Speaking about friends who did not immediately report Matej's disappearance to the police, he explained that they did not believe that something had happened, that is, that everything was as it should be. Miscevic explained that "it was a little strange to him", but he states that the law enforcement authorities will determine whether it is suspicious or not.

"They are still in Belgrade, but I don't believe they would tell us anything new," Misevic pointed out The RTL journalist also referred to the phone that stopped working, saying that it is not known whether it stopped working when they entered the water or left it somewhere.

He pointed out that Matej's father is in constant contact with the police and that he is extremely satisfied with the efforts that the law enforcement authorities are investing in finding the young man from Split.

"If he came in..."

Renato Grbić, who saved several drowned people over the years, told TV Prva that after the rain, the Danube reached one meter and that it was "quite strong" and warned that people must be careful.

"If there are assumptions that he came in, it is unlikely that he will come out... the body will float out in 20 days to a month. I pray to God that the boy is still alive, but if he really came into the river, it's fatal for the heart. The body is entering a phase of shock", stated Grbić.

On the conclusion that he is a water polo player, he believes that it does not play an important factor in the case of drowning.

"You can be an athlete, but when you enter cold water, it is unlikely that anyone can endure," Grbic pointed out.

Joncic: "We are conducting a general search of the terrain"

Igor Jončić from the Danger Network of Serbia, which is participating in the search for the missing citizen of Split Matej Periš, told Tanjug that a general search of the terrain is underway, but that so far they have not found any trace or anything that would lead them to the right direction.

Joncic said that the search will most likely continue today, after the briefing at which the situation will be assessed. Asked by reporters how much it is possible to keep a person alive in such conditions, given that it is very cold at night, especially by the river, he said that, "if it is what is talked about in the media, then the situation is very clear".

It is no longer a question of whether something is being held or not, but when that someone will be found and in what place", said Jončić. He added that they are in communication with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and that they are forwarding all relevant information.

"So far, we have not found any trace or anything that would indicate that we are on the right path," said Joncic. He pointed out that the search was also performed in the part of the terrain that was inaccessible.

"We used ropes to go down the ramparts so that we could get closer to the part where there is a smaller part of the forest that is half submerged and so that we would not miss anything," said Jončić.

He emphasized that the situation on the river changes from hour to hour, as well as the water level, and said that they are constantly visiting the most remote locations, which can be relevant for finding anything".

A young man from Split, Matej Periš (27), disappeared in Belgrade and all traces of him are lost after he left the club "Gothic" on December 31 after midnight.

The police are intensively searching for the young man, whose disappearance was reported by his friends on December 31 at 6 p.m., and police officers from several organizational units of the Ministry of the Interior are involved in the search.
