Battle for Knowledge: 70 teachers to receive training

Training sessions will be held in Uzice, Nis, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Belgrade, and will be attended by more than 70 teachers from Bajina Basta, Sevojno, Sjenica, Karana, Uzice, Kladovo, Knjazevac, Merosina, Brzi Brod, Razanj, Obilic, Srbobran, Backa Palanka, Kula, Odzaci, Ruma, Nova Pazova, Subotica, Jagodina, Kostolac, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Krusevac, Glibovac, Gornji Milanovac, Leska, Socanica, Loznica, Belgrade, Kosovska Mitrovica, Klokot, and other towns.

Immediately after completing the training, teachers from these 50 schools will be given five mBot robots each as donations for their institutions, that will be used to help their students will learn programming and coding basics. Lecturers at these workshops will be developers from the Center for Creative Thinking Kliker, while the implementation of the training has been enabled the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.

The first round of training for teachers from 81 schools in Serbia was organized in late February, when a total of 405 robots were donated - as part of the Battle for Knowledge and Code-Play campaign program.

335 schools from all parts of the country have applied to participate in the program, which aims to introduce programming - the most sought after and promising profession - to elementary schools in an age-appropriate manner. Over the next few weeks, the remaining 204 schools will be included in the program, which means that a total of 1,675 mBot robots will be distributed by the end of the current school year.

The Code-Play League, where students from 335 schools in Serbia will take part, will be the organized in three rounds - in late April, late May and June, when the big final is planned to take place.
