The seismic activity suggests that a ten kiloton nuclear bomb had exploded - the biggest produced to date by the Asian country.

The epicenter of the earthquake caused by the explosion was about 8,000 kilometers from Belgrade, and took about 11.5 minutes to reach 22 RSZ stations, the institution's deputy director, Branko Dragicevic, told Tanjug.

Dragicevic added that the RSZ should by the end of the year become Serbia's national data center when it comes to collecting data related to nuclear activities.

He added that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ) in 2004 ratified a contract on a comprehensive ban of nuclear tests, and that Serbia, as that state's legal successor, decided that the RSZ would implement a program of activities with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO)

This international organization has delivered relevant equipment to the RSZ, and provided training to the staff, Dragicevic concluded.
