President Tomislav Nikolic has received the country's Paralympic athletes, ceremonially handing them a national flag they will carry at the Rio Paralympics.

Nikolic hands national flag to Serbian Paralympic athletes

Nikolic, accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic, wished the athletes to come back from Rio with many medals.

Udovicic urged the nation to watch with great attention the Serbian Paralympians compete at the Games.

The head of the Paralympics Committee Zoran Micovic thanked the state and the ministry for the support.

Micovic pointed out that he believes they will be as successful as their predecessors.

Peric-Rankovic added that she hopes she will make the nation proud.

The Rio Paralympics will be held on September 7-18.
