Britain's Prince Charles on Thursday visited the Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Kovilj, in the province of Vojvodina.

He also toured a rehabilitation project dubbed "The Land of the Living," and took a boat ride the Kovilj-Petrovaradin Marsh - a special nature reserve - while his wife Camilla visited the "Food is Great" event in the town of Sremski Karlovci, and a beekeeping museum and winery.

Earlier in the day they visited the Catholic Port in Novi Sad and unveiled a memorial plaque dedicated to British humanitarian workers, and later met with curators and children taking part in a Matica Srpska Gallery project organized by the British Council.

The British royals will return to Belgrade this evening, Beta reported, where Prince Charles will be the guest of honor at a reception organized in the Serbian National Assembly.

This will conclude the two-day visit during which he met with Serbia's top officials, religious leaders, the Karadjordjevic family, and representatives of the culture scene and the diplomatic corps.

Beta noted that the British royal couple arrived in Belgrade from Croatia, and will be in Montenegro and in Kosovo starting tomorrow.
