Vulin: Law on Children's Ombudsman to be adopted soon

The adoption of the law would set up an umbrella institution which would exclusively deal with rights and position of children, the minister said during the ceremony Open doors day, which was organised to mark Children's Week.

He underscored that Serbia cares for children and noted that 368,000 boys and girls are included in the children's allowance system, adding that 88,000 children are living in families that receive financial assistance and 61,000 children live in families on child benefit programme.

On the Open doors day, Vulin hosted a reception for talented children and best pupils living in families on social programmes and presented them with gifts, and the ceremony was also attended by poet Ljubivoje Rsumovic and composer and singer Minja Subota.

The Children's Week will remain open until October 11 and this year's slogan is 'Support to the family - Best support to children'.
