Hungary's measures "could alter refugees' route"

Djuraskovic said that refugees could in that case depart from Istanbul to Bulgaria, Greece or from Greece toward Albania and further toward the European Union.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Thursday told Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic that his country was preparing laws that will enable deployment of the police and the army on the border with Serbia.

In a statement for RTS, Djuraskovic said that Serbia will continue cooperating with colleagues from Hungary, as well as Austria, Germany and Macedonia.

"We are participating in joint Frontex operations and cooperating with Europol, and in this sense we are implementing all steps that are in keeping with the current situation, both in humanitarian and healthcare terms, not only in the area of security," Djuraskovic said.

He noted that since the beginning of the year until September 1, the Ministry of Interior (MUP) issued 587 criminal charges for illicit border crossing and human trafficking. The charges cover over 800 people suspected of the criminal act involving over 5,000 migrants.
